Some of our S1 students went on a 4-day-3-night Xi’an History and Culture Study Tour between November and December. During the trip, they visited a number of historical sites including the Xi’an City Wall, Drum Tower, Little Wild Goose Pagoda and Daming Palace National Heritage Park. They also went to Shaanxi History Museum and Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum to learn more about the history and culture of ancient China. Apart from sightseeing, students had plenty of opportunities to experience Chinese culture, such as watching Wushu performance and joining a DIY workshop on making mini Terra-cotta Warriors.
The tour was really an eye-opening experience for our students. It provided a meaningful context for them to consolidate their knowledge learnt in Chinese History lessons and develop a sense of national identity.
