To enhance students' understanding of visual arts and sharpen their art appreciation skills, the Visual Arts Department arranged for to-be S4 and S5 Visual Arts students in July to visit an exhibition themed “Mythologies: Surrealism and Beyond - Masterpieces from Centre Pompidou” at the Hong Kong Museum of Art.

The students were able to catch a glimpse of works of significant surrealist artists like Giorgio de Chirico, Salvador Dalí, and René Magritte which were featured to show the diffusion of Surrealists at international level, as well as an inclusive picture of the movement development. They also seized this valuable opportunity to explore other exhibitions by local artists like "NOT a fashion store!" and "Rediscovering Landscape".

This visit did not only allow students to gain an initial understanding of Surrealism, but also provided them with inspirational ideas that are conducive to their preparation of school-based assessments.
