On 6th February, our College participated in the Joint School Staff Development Day on Self-Directed Learning, organised by the Hong Kong Secondary School Heads Association. The event was held at Kit Sam Lam Bing Yim Secondary School.
Four of our teachers shared their insights on integrating AI into teaching with colleagues from other schools:
- From the English Department, Mrs Sheena Jolly, Mr Donald Ward, and Mr Alvin Li presented their experiences and strategies.
- From the Music Department, Mr Isaac Cheung also shared his work.
To enrich the sharing session, the English Department invited two students from Class 5W, Siu Tik Fei Catherine and Patel Rishika Chetankumar, to speak about their learning journeys, offering a valuable student perspective on self-directed learning.
In addition, Mr Isaac Cheung was recognised for his outstanding work in the Self-Directed Learning Classroom Video Scheme, receiving an award during the event.
Our teachers benefited greatly from the sharing sessions led by various schools, gaining deeper insights into self-directed learning and AI-enhanced teaching approaches. Moving forward, these insights will be integrated into our College’s ongoing efforts to promote innovative teaching and learning.
It was a truly meaningful and enriching Professional Development Day for all.
