On 27th June, the PTA successfully held the second session of AI Training for Parents, following the positive response to Session 1 earlier in the month. This session delved deeper into the practical application of AI as a learning companion for students, introducing parents to the AI Homework Blueprint – a step-by-step framework for building a patient, 24/7 "private tutoring system" at home.
During the workshop, parents explored key strategies to support their children's learning, including:
- Diagnosing the root cause of mistakes – moving beyond right or wrong answers to identify learning blind spots.
- Activating the Socratic Tutor – using guided questions to encourage independent thinking rather than providing direct answers.
- Creating interactive quizzes, flashcards, and mock exam papers – tailoring revision tools to the child's specific needs.
- Using Google Gemini and NotebookLM – leveraging the right AI tools for different learning tasks.
- Responsible AI use – ensuring privacy, fact-checking, and setting ethical boundaries for students.
The session was highly interactive, with parents engaging in hands-on activities and sharing their experiences. Their enthusiasm and commitment to supporting their children's learning in the digital age were truly inspiring.
The two-part training series has been a valuable step in equipping our parents with the knowledge and confidence to navigate AI alongside their children. We are grateful to all participating parents for their active involvement and look forward to continuing this journey together.
Together, we are building a stronger home-school partnership in digital education.
